Regulatory Affairs

Regulation is a synonym for government intervention in private market activity, in the name of public interest.

The Regulator’s responsibility is to help produce a competitive market and assist in preventing  market failures that may damage the public.

Regulation’s main failures are:  (a) inferiority of information; (b) regulatory capture; (c) damages caused by incorrect or biased regulation; and-(d) multi-factor regulation that misses the main problems (such as the events that led to the economic crisis in the U.S. in 2008).

In 2013 the Institute intends to continue its research on ways to improve the regulatory-process Israel.
